I guess it's pretty obvious by now that I dedicated the piece to my parents. In addition to all the reasons I've described, they are just celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary, which is the continuous life if nothing else is! I asked my brother Spencer if he would read the poem, and I made a version for multiple guitars that we played for them at their anniversary party. My friends Cory Arcangel and Mary Rodríguez recorded some of the guitar tracks, and Mole, Mary, Grethe Holby, and I played the "interactive" guitar part at the party.

The premiere by OrchestraX was on 30 September and 1 October 2000 at the Miller Outdoor Theater in Houston. I can't really get away with putting the recording of the premiere up here on the website, but I've decided to put the multiple guitar version here for you instead. Click here to listen to the version with Spencer reading the text, remixed in May 2011 for his memorial.

Thanks so much for spending time with me here. Special thanks to Cory Arcangel, who helped me make this website. I'd love your comments and feedback.
