This Prelude from 1979 might be the first piece of music I’ve written that still exists. I came across the hand-copied page in the summer of 2023. I made a live recording in Chapman Studio at MacDowell in December, 44 years almost to the day from when I wrote the piece.
Do you maybe recognize in this little apprentice piece something of the person I am now?
I hope so.
